Artist's Statement
My work is a visual diary of places and people I have met . They are created from images which excite me visually . The places are generally places I'm passing through on my travels in South Africa/Africa as I'm interested in portraying my roots.
My presence in these places is transitory and by creating these images , the landscapes becomes a remembering of places lost , as in a dream .
My preference is to work loosely and intuitively in whatever media allowing the work to lead me . I'm interested in expressive mark making and an imaginative interpretation.
